What is a Restorative Sound Bath?

A sound bath, also known as a sound healing or sound journey, is a deeply relaxing experience where you are immersed in soothing vibrations created by instruments such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, handpan, drums, chimes, voice and more. These sounds are designed to resonate with your body and mind, helping to release tension, reduce stress, restore balance and reset your nervous system.

By entraining brainwaves to slower, meditative states, sound baths promote deep relaxation, enhance mental clarity, and support the body’s natural healing processes. In a restorative sound bath, you simply lie down in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and allow the harmonious frequencies to wash over you, bringing a profound sense of calm and well-being. Our Helensvale group sound baths are perfect for anyone seeking stress relief and inner balance.

Why Join our Sound Bath in Helensvale?

There are many benefits of attending a group sound healing!

Reduce stress & anxiety

Sound healing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing cortisol levels and calming the mind and body for deep relaxation.

Improve breathing & circulation

The soothing frequencies stimulate the vagus nerve, encouraging deeper breathing and improved blood flow to nourish the body.

Strengthen the immune system

By lowering stress hormones and improving lymphatic flow, sound healing supports immune cell production and boosts overall health.

Improve sleep quality

The vibrations synchronise brainwaves to slower frequencies, like theta and delta waves, helping you fall into deep, restorative sleep.

Enhance mental clarity & focus

By aligning brainwaves to optimal frequencies, sound healing clears mental fog and enhances focus, memory, and overall cognitive function.

Improve nervous system resilience

Regular exposure to harmonious sounds increases neuroplasticity, training the nervous system to recover more easily from stress.

Lower blood pressure

Sound healing promotes relaxation by reducing sympathetic nervous system activity, which naturally lowers blood pressure and eases tension.

Alleviate aches and pains

Vibrations penetrate deep into the body, reducing inflammation, stimulating endorphins, and easing physical discomfort.

Feeling peace & inner joy

The tones release dopamine and serotonin, the body’s “feel-good” chemicals, creating a deep sense of inner peace and happiness.

I especially love the combination of Courtney's female energy and Steve's masculine energy and their amazing voices singing in harmony. I walked out of the studio lighter, calm and centered. Thanks again for the sound healing guys and can't wait for the next one!"

Common Questions About Sound Baths

What should I bring?

We encourage you to bring anything that will make you feel comfortable whilst lying down. This could include a pillow, blanket, or even an eye mask. The more comfortable you can be the better! The yoga studio has yoga mats, bolsters and blankets available for your use. It is also recommended that you bring a water bottle.

What should I wear to a sound bath?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to relax fully. Layers are a good idea in case the room feels cool or warm.

Are these sound baths suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! No prior experience is necessary. Just come as you are, ready to receive the beautiful frequencies of healing sound.

What happens during a sound bath?
During a sound bath, you lie comfortably on a mat while listening to soothing sounds from live instruments. These sounds promote relaxation, reduce stress, and encourage healing. You can also sit up if you prefer this over lying down - your comfort is priority.

What if I can’t relax easily?

Don’t worry—sound baths naturally guide your mind and body into a relaxed state, even if you feel restless at first. Simply lie down, breathe deeply, and let the soothing vibrations do the work. There’s no right or wrong way to experience it—just come as you are. The sounds and vibrations will naturally help you release tension.
